Job Definition

We are currently seeking a talented Estimator to join our office-based team in Pudsey. This role is focused on estimating time, material, and methods of manufacture rather than costing.  

Responsibilities

  • Attention to detail is paramount in this role.

  • Create estimates for specialized machining parts ranging from 1-off to 1000-off.

  • Identify the most effective manufacturing methods for complex parts, from raw material to complete production.

  • Determine the most suitable material for the requested job.

  • Read and understand customer specifications, interpret requirements, and collaborate with our Technical team to find solutions.

  • Liaise with different departments within the business

  • Work to the ActionPlas values

 
Skills

  • Machining experience with plastics and metals is desirable but not essential.

  • Precision engineering/manufacturing background - HNC/HND or strong technical expertise within CNC and manual machining.

  • Ability to calculate cycle times, set-up times, and more.

  • Solid knowledge of tooling, jigs, and fixtures.

  • Excellent communicator across various depts and customers
