Mechanical Fitter

Job Definition

The Mechanical Fitter primary role is assembly of new build tooling and site fitting this tooling onto existing machinery. They will spend time between site visits (could be nationwide) and working from Head Office, supporting production through fabrication and assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Building new tooling assemblies, Fitting components, instrumentation and/or modules as directed by engineering drawings and technical specifications

  • Raise non-conformance issues to Team Leader

  • Working to set deadlines to achieve performance targets and customer delivery commitments

  • Working in a compliant manner to ensure that products are built to the correct technical and quality specifications

  • Participating in continual review and improvement processes for the business to identify best practice

  • Ensure a clean and safe environment is maintained in the workplace and comply with any health and safety requirements of the work area

  • Work to the ActionPlas values and lead by example

  
Skills

  • Must be able to demonstrate experience in using a variety of engineering equipment and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply instructions correctly to achieve required product quality.

  • It is essential to hold a time-served apprenticeship and a level 3 qualification (Engineering Fitter)
